Nestor Miranda Special Selection Limited Edition 2010 Danno, hailing once again from Nicaragua; consisting of an Ecuadorian Oscuro Rosado wrapper, a Nicaraguan Habano binder, and a tri-country blend hailing from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

This 21st anniversary release of the Danno smells of apricots, black peppercorns, caramel, cashews, cinnamon, jalapeños, mocha, paprika, tarragon, and sea salt.

The draw from a fourteen millimeter punch (Nub Cigar punch) is quite smooth; the wrapper tastes of anise, cedar, chicory, currant, ginger, mesquite, oak, and white chocolate.

The toasted foot smells of butter cream, caramel, cocoa, hickory, peat, and toasted rye.

The smoke is bone white in color, the ash is salt and pepper in complexion and is currently ringing in one millimeter bands. The smoke off of the draw tastes of caramel, cashews, espresso, fennel, hickory, leather, mesquite, oak, ouzo, peat, and thyme.

Twenty minutes in at roughly an inch in on this 7″ by 56rg double corona; and the ash is extremely solid and relatively uniform. The smoke smells of cocoa, hazelnuts, mahogany, mocha, and sea salt.

From the recently tapped ash, there’s a subtle cone of ligero on the foot; breaching the six inch mark yields hints of coffee cubano, cracked white peppercorns, fennel, habanero chilies, oak, pomegranates, tarragon, and vanilla beans.

Forty minutes in at five and a half inches, and the body resides dead on at full and so too is the strength.

Two inches down at the five inch mark, at an hour in; with hints of almonds, anise, butternut squash, cashews, espresso, hickory, madiera, mocha, molasses, oak, thyme, and white chocolate.

A substantial canoe formed around the four inch mark at the hour and a half mark. The smoke off the foot is gradually sweeter as the Danno burns towards the nub, with hints of cocoa, mocha, sugar cane, and vanilla. The smoke off of the draw builds up with hints of cedar, chicory, hickory, mesquite, oak, peat, sea salt, tarragon, and white peppercorns.

Nestor Miranda’s 2010 release of the Danno is truly a robust multidimensional cigar designed for those who can handle a powerful blend.
